Kira Vygrivach is a photographer and filmmaker of Russian origin, born in 1984 in Moscow, in the former Soviet Union.
She grew up in the post-Soviet world, where Russia collapsed only to rebuild itself. A world where its people seem to always rise above the insurmountable, often retreating into their inner worlds.
After studying linguistics applied to computer science and gaining her first professional experience in artificial intelligence, Kira shifted from the artificial to the artistic.
In 2008, she chose photography, first in Moscow, then moved to live in Paris in 2012; in 2015, she turned to video and filmmaking, still in Paris, where she lives and works today as an artist, commercial photographer, and audiovisual producer.
She has held numerous exhibitions in France and abroad and has received several awards for her work.

Kira’s work is a spiritual journey that lies somewhere between reality and dream, where the boundary appears in her work as an elusive space.
First and foremost, she explores the human condition. In her earliest documentary projects (Cadres, 2012; Herbes, 2012; Hero, 2012), and later in Rage de vie (2014) and Soif de vie (film, 2017), she constructs— with vibrancy and poetry— a multidimensional portrait of a person, a collective, or a place, touching on the unconscious and memory, and thus becoming universal.
Later, with several photographic series grouped under the name Sny (“Dreams”), she seeks to illustrate that the boundary between reality and dream is far thinner and more fragile than we might think. She captures reality as it is, without ever attempting to enhance it or resort to specific techniques of optical “makeup,” nor to digital post-processing.
And yet, it seems that Kira’s eye accesses another world—enigmatic and pure—where the real and the unreal merge to create a new space: that of a harmonious duality. In her more recent documentary films, Potolok (2018) and Dom (2023), which retain this dreamlike quality, Kira explores, through her own childhood memories, both personal and collective memory.
Kira’s work speaks directly to the viewer’s heart. It invites us to dive into her suspended world and share in a spiritual quest.

Kira launched her entrepreneurial journey in the audiovisual field in 2014. Coming from a background in documentary photography, she naturally moved into the commercial sphere—portraiture, reportage, and storytelling—drawing on the core strengths of a documentary photographer: strong psychological insight, empathy, discretion, and patience; curiosity and responsiveness; and a keen sense of beauty and authenticity.
Kira brings a unique touch to each project she directs, and her diverse experience allows her to manage complex productions with the sensitivity of an artist and the rigor of a scientific approach. Today, she supports individuals, artists, and companies—from concept to execution—in creating authentic photographic content.
She founded Yaïtso Studio in 2023, incorporating other artists and disciplines into her work to produce more varied and ambitious projects, in her own distinctive way.
